Well, recently I've been seeing writing as less of a hobby and more of a job. I was just waiting for my muse, and it didn't come to me until I made an attempt, and just wrote a few descriptive sentences.
Well, those few sentences have expanded into a growing short-story (currently at around 1,000 words). I really like where I'm going with it so far, and might call a first chapter sometime soon to put up on here.
I need to work on my transitions a bit, and I need to fix a few continuity errors that occurred due to me going back and changing little details after the initial writing. I'm reading through it, start to finish, every time before I start writing more for it from now on, so that continuity errors can become a thing of the past.
So far, things are coming together pretty well.
The only issue is, I've got too many places I could go with it... I don't know which to choose.
Maybe I'll do some sort of social experiment on some unrelated sites I go on to see how people react to certain events. Or I might just pick a situation out of a hat, who the hell knows?
Regardless, it's still a work in progress. Even though it's only 1,000 words so far, it's about a week and a half's work. I keep on going in and making changes without really changing much of anything.
That's a good thing, I guess, since it's fixing things up... Polishing what I've got so far. But I've got to focus and get some more content... I can polish it up later.
